Dr Danette Barnard Inc. ITS NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY

Phoned on Friday to make an appointment and confirm that the dr takes my medical aid. They said yes and they work on a 1st come 1st serve basis on Saturdays. Took my son on Saturday handed the medical aid card and saw the dr, today I get an sms that says "this serves as a reminder of your outstanding balance R360.00 your reference *** please contact Dr D Barnard INC ***" then I get a 2nd sms "You need an auth number for visit 14/9/2019 with dr Barnards practice for Seth...Please this is important you will be liable for account. Thank you Dr Barnard Practice. I call I speak to the receptionist and she gives me a speech of I need to know my medical aids TC's and I should have gotten 1 before I saw the dr. This is the 1st time that this has happened to me as ever other dr I have seen has gotten authorization. I speak to the practice manager and she tells me I need to read my TC's as they don't know the rules of all the medical aids. She then went on to say its not their responsibility but mine to call the medical aid and also not their responsibility to tell me. In this day and age who does any form of business without ensuring that they will get payment, obviously this practice as how do they know that I am still a member of the medical aid? How do they know I gave the correct address? She has said she will make a note in my file but HONESTLY I WILL NEVER GO TO THAT DR AGAIN with the after service and PT that is required as they are just to lazy!!!! I contacted my plan and they actually said the dr's normally get authorization themselves. I even asked why dont you put a sign up, its not my responsibility....
