Best Surgeon who cares for patients during their most vunerable time!

Finding the correct words to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Steyn was hard. How does one describe someone who has completely changed your life? I had a tough two years before I met Dr. Steyn. After a surgery went wrong, I developed septicemia and was in the ICU for three months at another hospital, enduring seven laparotomies during that time. As a result, I was wheelchair-bound for eight months.

For eleven months, I sought help and saw many different surgeons, most stating that my condition was too high risk and that they could not help. One was willing to assist, but I did not feel comfortable proceeding with them.

The moment I sat down in front of Dr. Steyn, before we even began our conversation, I felt God's presence and His assurance that this was the person He intended me to meet all along. At that stage, I did not even know if I would be rejected again l; on the contrary, not only was Dr. Steyn willing to help, but she also had plans A, B , and C in place and took all possible scenarios into consideration. I knew I was safe and in good hands.

On April 15, 2025, in that theater room, you gave me back my quality of life. You performed an almost impossible major surgery-nothing short of a miracle-and I could never express my gratitude enough! From your thorough explanations to your gentle approach and reassuring presence, every interaction has reflected the highest level of professionalism and heartfelt humanity. It is clear that your work is more than just a job; it's a calling.

My parents, husband, and daughter almost lost me in 2023, and my life drastically changed afterward. This made us all feel uncertain, but you went above and beyond, especially during a time when we were worried and needed guidance. Your support, diligence, and calm reassurance have changed my perception. I now believe that there are doctors who still care; I no longer feel like just a number in an appointment book.

My previous bad experience made me terrified and unsure, stripping me of my dignity; all the "what ifs" made me feel crazy at times. But here we are today, just over a month post-op, and I am a different person, simply because you make me feel seen, heard, and supported.

It is rare to encounter a medical professional who combines excellence with such warmth, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have found that in you.
