TURNED AWAY

Nearly 2 years ago, when my mother suddenly passed away, I was referred to see Dr. Caro de Witt. On trying to make an appointment, I was told no new patients will be accepted for the next 2 years. It's been nearly 2 years, so I phoned again, to make an appointment, only to be told that no more patients are being accepted. In the interim, I saw another specialist and the treatment has made no difference to my life. For sure, this is why Dr. de Witt was recommended, by the gp and psychologist I saw, because they had faith in her treatment of patients. Patients, in pure desperation are reaching out to see her and she is turning us away. How can you just turn patients away, or have her receptionist refer patients to specialists they do not want to see, and who they were not referred to. This specialist is also one on my medical aid list. I just don't understand, how these wonderful people, who have these degrees and promised to serve people in need, are the same people turning a blind eye, in a time of desperate situations. Our health and care, is just as important as anyone else. Acts of suicide are increasing. If people are crying out for help, please, please, give it to them.
