Drs Diffenthal and Theron - Medi Clinic Bloemfontein

We contacted Dr Diffenthal on a Sunday morning regarding an emergency for our 1yearold daughter. He said that he would call us back, which he didn't. Alternatively we called the practice to make an emergency appointment, to which the receptionist rep**** she can help us the Tuesday at 11. We made the appointment. Later the Monday my daughter's fever became so high that we tried to call the practice again and again, but the phone stayed engaged. We then had to make an appointment with another pediatrician that afternoon as it was an emergency. The Tuesday morning we tried to call the practice again, but there was no answer again, and obviously missed the appointment because we had already been helped by another doctor. We then received an account for the appointment, and when we tried to explain and gave proof that we had to go to another doctor, they said if we cannot prove that we called and they did not answer that we have to pay the bill. Which by the way is about R900. I did send them proof that we did see another doctor, but it does not matter. and did you know that if someone does not answer, or the phone is engaged, that the call does not show on your telephone account. We also then heard from the accounts lady that the appointment was not even with Dr Diffenthal, but with Dr Theron. I don't even know who that is. This is outrageous service and the lady that works at reception is not the brightest crayon in the box, every time we call to follow up, she says that she doesn't know what we are talking about, after she spoke to us 2 days before. That ladies and gentlement is what health services have come to. I am considering sending them an account for al the time I have wasted on this.
