A heartfelt Thank You :)

A heartfelt Thank You to Dr Ashmika Gokhul. Good Doctors like you replace the fear of illness with trust in recovery. My little boy was born in August 2019. As 1st time parents we have been to so many pediatricians as my sons breathing did not seem normal. January 2020, he got really sick so we rushed him to St Augustine's hospital, late on a Sunday afternoon, where we met Dr Gokhul for the 1st time. She was doing her rounds at the hospital, at that hour, she willingly agreed to immediately check my son.

With just 1 check up she found that baby had a VSD, which is a hole in the heart. My son was admitted, Dr put him on medication and the very next day Dr scheduled appointments with 2 different cardiologist, from 2 different hospitals, she ran tests and done scans on him. It was later confirmed that baby needed an open heart surgery to close up the hole in his heart.

From the 1st check up Doctor Gokhul has been phenomenal. She was so on the ball in running tests to make sure his infection rate was dropping so when he went for his operation at just 6 months old. A week later, he was perfectly fine, he recovered and was back at home like a normal happy baby, living a normal life. If you see my son today, his 2 and a half years old, you would never believe he had undergone such a big life saving operation. It was a painful experience but I am ever so grateful for Good, caring Dr's like Dr Gokhul, who goes above and beyond for her patients, she goes the extra mile and in no time the kids are good again.

So a Big Thank You to Dr Ashmika Gokhul. We are so blessed to have met you. Thank you for your support. Thank you for not rushing a single appointment, for answering every single one of my questions and for your patience with kids. You look after these kids as if they were your own children. You are the reason behind many kids smile today so my prayer is that you are always in good health & you always smile. God Bless You ... Josiah's mom
