Doctor's ridiculous consultation fee

Medical practitioner asking ridiculous consultation fee. First consultation fee : R2 000. When we submitted claim to our medical aid, they only paid back R544,00. This is day time *******. We weren't informed of the consultation fee upfront and his secretary said she did tell us and that it is just bad luck, that's his fees and there is nothing you can do about it. Will NOT do follow up with this doctor.
