BEWARE

I’m not normally a person who complains, but I feel I need to warn other potential victims. I made an appointment to see dr ade meyer and after consultation she advised me that the best option for me would be to have 12 teeth capped with Cerec moulds which could be done in 1 day and the Cerec would last a lifetime; as well as 1 implant On 12 October 2020 I had the procedure done and it cost me 150k. From the time the anaesthetic wore off on 12 October 2020 – I experienced pain every day!!! I had been taking 8 Myprodols a day. I emailed dr ade meyer on 27 October 2020 and the response I received was “Dr Meyer had a look at your x-rays and all looks very good. You can get the following at your nearest chemist. The ligaments of each tooth are now just sore and the follow medication will definitely help you. You can get either the following medication Celebrex 200mg x10 inocte, Voltaren suppository x5, And please let me know how your doing.” The excrutiating pain lasted a total of 7 weeks and I felt relieved that this ordeal was over. If only it was!!! On 28 July 2021 (9 months later), One of the Cerec tooth broke off. In other words my original tooth that was filed half away and capped with the amazing Cerec material…broke off…my whole tooth broke off – flush with my gum. I emailed dr ade meyer immediately and again I will quote her response to me. “We had a look at your x-ray, and that tooth is a root canal treated tooth. Root canal treated teeth are brittle teeth, and we have capped it for it to last. But unfortunately we can't guarantee how long any root canal treated tooth will last. When will you be able to come to South Africa then we can have a look and see how we can help you with that tooth.” My response email to her was “At no time whatsoever was I made aware of this possibility, hence I followed the advice of the Dentist to cap the tooth together with all others done. If I knew of this possible risk, I surely wouldn’t have done it for my tooth only to last for 8 months and now I’ve lost my whole tooth. I am very concerned as to the state of my other teeth that were capped and what the outcome of those might be. I paid a fortune. I will be in South Africa on the 7 August 2021.Please let me know” It has been 3 weeks and I have not received a reply. So beware of this so called amazing Cerec procedure….what you need to know is that your original tooth will be filed away more than 50% to accommodate a “stronger material”, but it weakens your original tooth and as stated – there are no guarantees. In my situation, I did not receive the correct advise from dr ade meyer – whom I trusted in her profession She took my money with a smile and left me without one!!! Be very careful before trusting that dr ade meyer has your best interest at heart. I am convinced that it is just a matter of time before the other 11 teeth break off one by one – Don’t waste your money!!! I have found another dentist who was very accommodating to my situation, at a fraction of the price dr ade meyer quotes.
