Terrible Service Offering

My Runway Sale return was scheduled to be collected on Thursday 30 October. I prepared it for collection on the said day, however it was not collected. The following morning (Friday 31st) I received an SMS stating that "the parcel could not be collected on the agreed date due to the parcel not being ready for collection", which did not make sense to me because I was at home the whole day on Thursday yet no one contacted me regarding the collection.

On Friday morning (31st at 10:37) I received a call from DPD Laser (Refilwe) and the lady asked if I had been contacted to which I rep**** "no", I went on to express to her that my parcel has been ready but no one had come to collect it. She apologised and said she will contact the driver to come and collect it as soon as she was done with our call; I even generated an access code for her to share with the driver so that he did not have to call me. I waited the whole day once again on Friday and no one came to collect the return. Saturday morning I received another SMS saying that there was no collection due to the parcel not being ready for collection.

I am very disheartened and irritated with this situation because I had to limit my movement for 2 working business days whilst waiting for a collection that could not be fulfilled; and this means should they decide to come collect I will have to pause my life once again whilst I wait for this collection to happen. Please note that this has caused major disruptions and inconveniences for me because I have things to do, I am not just sitting at home waiting for someone to bring a delivery or to collect a parcel. And even more appalling is the reason they put on their SMS to explain why the collection was not fulfilled, putting the blame on the customer for not having the parcel ready even though that is not the truth.

This is supposed to be a simple transaction for a service I will be paying for, it's completely unacceptable that a courier company would fail to collect a parcel they have committed to collect for 2 consecutive days. It's now Monday and I am yet to receive any communication regarding this outstanding collection.
