<p>During November 2016 I received a telephone call from a lady claiming to be from DP Directories to enquire if we would please complete and sign a form sent to me by fax. This was for a Western Cape telephone directory. Being under the impression that this had to do with the Telkom directory, I completed this form and faxed it. Further more, I noticed that this form stated "advert cost" R195 pm X 12 , but however, further down the page : 50% deposit payment on Invoice and balance on proof of advert. The wording on this form was very confusing and did not quite paid attention to all of it. I received the Invoice for the full amount of the advert, but did not make any payment.</p> <p>I received a call from the same lady requesting the 50% deposit. I queried this, still being under the impression that it was for a Telkom entry, because on our Telkom account we presently have a monthly subscription for the Yellow Pages. When debating with this lady from DP Directories why the wording on their subscription form stated the R195 pm she refered me to the 50% deposit on receipt of their Invoice, which she has already emailed me. I did not do the payment immediately, but was receiving constant phone calls from DP Directories for the 50% deposit, which I then eventually did.</p> <p>I then received their proof of the colour advert, was actually bits taken from my company's website. I confirmed it was in order and immediately afterwards received another phone call urging me to pay the balance, which I also did not do immediately, as I then started having doubts about the legitimacy of this transaction as I Googled the name DP Directories, but could not find any related company doing directory ads.</p> <p>Eventually , after many phone calls from DP Directories requesting the remaining balance, I made the payment, but requested a proper Tax invoice wich I still haven't received, even after sending to emails requesting such. I was told that a copy of this Western Cape Business telephone directory will be posted to us, but up to now haven't received anything.</p> <p>I would like to know if their are other businesses out there who are fami**** with DP Directories?</p> <p>Their Invoice shows an address in Pinetown KZN with telephone ********** 309 which seems not to be a number in Pinetown. There is also no VAT no on their Invoice.</p> <p>Your comments would be appreciated.</p> <p> </p>
