NO DIGNITY FOR THE DEAD WHO END UP AT DOVES!!!!

My father passed away on 1st August 2016. In his Last Will and Testament he wanted to be cremated and have the funeral home scatter his ashes in a memorial garden so as to save his family from having to go through this trauma. Imagine the shock when last week my mother received a call to ask what she would like to do with my fathers ashes. 5 YEARS LATER!!!!! My mom and I had even driven to the cemetary on the anniversary of his death and spent time in the memorial garden paying remembrance. You can imagine the shock when 5 years later my mom received the call that my dad's ashes were still with Doves. I took the matter up as this has caused a lot of upset and stress on my mom and myself. Doves confirmed that it was indeed my dad's ashes. I have since taken possesion of the ashes and will ensure that they are finally scattered with the dignity and respect that my dad deserved. I am appalled that the Regional Manager who's attention this matter was brought to has not even had the decency to personally apologise on this sensitive matter. I really feel like I am dealing with my dad's death all over again. My mom is not coping with this relevation. My mom was hospitalised after my dad's death and now this is pushing her towards the edge. My dad's ashes were obviously kept in some "archive" and now they are having a clean out and getting rid of old uncollected ashes. My dad deserved better than that. He may be gone but I really expected a leading funeral company to have handled the matter correctly. I am really so disgusted. Even though they are dealing with the dead Doves should look after the living and the family members concerned. Shocking to say the least. They shouldn't even get the one star rating!!!!!!
