Blinding disappointment

I got new glasses at Douglas and Hardy Optometrists in Louwlardia, Centurion on 21 December 2019. 3 months later, on 04 March 2020 my brand new glasses had broken.

I went to the Optometrist’s office on 06 March 2020 to report this, hoping I’d get help. All I was told by the receptionist was that I had broken my glasses completely. I stated that I had not done anything but handle my glasses with the utmost care, and was told “taking off one’s glasses by pulling the one temple, lying on the bed on the side while wearing glasses, etc can break glasses. I was also told that it is recommended that we buy glasses without hinges or *****s on the temples, but ones with bendable temples. This surprised me as this was not recommended when I got glasses.

All I was told was that the supplier would be called, and perhaps a discount would be negotiated for a new frame that I would still have to pay for. This, just so the temple would break again 3 months later!
