You take but can't give

I was in a car accident over a month ago and Dotsure have done NOTHING except to take my money every month. They have not send an assessor to evaluate the damage. In fact they cancelled my claim after I sent all the documents they needed. I had to go out and get a quote, get the case number, buy the accident report(R180), send them photos of my vehicle. I am dealing with 6different people at Dotsure. This being my first accident, I got no guidance from my insurance company. Trying to get hold of the owner or manager is just as difficult.

Good Day Ms. Blackie

Upon receipt of your complaint on Hello Peter. We investigated the process of the claim in question and the outcome.

The following was established:

According to the terms and conditions stated on your policy. You have chosen the “cash settlement” cover option which means that all valid claims will be settled on a cash basis only. The settlement amount will be calculated on the amount we would have spent on repairs to your vehicle. This means that all part prices and labour will be based on the amount it would have cost us at our preferred suppliers/repairers.
It further states that when you want to claim, you must give us written proof or any other information we requested within 14 days. You must provide us with any information relating to your claim that we require, at your own expense.
You logged a claim against your comprehensive cover policy on the 01st September 2018. During the claim process, you were requested for documentation and sms notifications were sent to you on the 08th and 11th September 2018: Dear Yolandi. Please forward the following documentation: Photos or Sketches; Quotation; SAPS Report to our Claims Department: *** (Fax) or Email ***. Please use your claim number as ***-00001. Thank you Elelwane (Connie) Muthavhi Oakhurst FSP39925. An assessor was appointed to assess your vehicle and the following sms was sent to you on the 19th September 2018 once the assessment was completed: Dear Yolandi. NYP***. An Assessor has been appointed to view the damages to your vehicle. Oakhurst FSP39925 ***.
Upon receipt of the required document a settlement was offered which same was calculated. The applicable excess was deducted in accordance to the terms and conditions of your policy. It is therefore our submission that your claim was processed in accordance with the terms and conditions of your policy within a reasonable turnaround time, and a full and final settlement paid to you on the 01st October 2018.

Trust the above is in order.

Regards,

Dotsure Resolutions Team
