White collar *****sters!
I’m extremely disappointed with the service and ethics of this company. Late last year I received a kitten as a gift, my partner and kids were so happy to have Simba around more especially me as I spent a lot of time with her. So we went to get some goodies for her in a pet shop in Camps Bay when the cashier introduced us to the pet insurance. My ex-wife used to work for this company in George and I used to work in George as well. Kids back at school and partner went home, it’s been 4 months just me and her (Simba).
Needless to say; we signed up immediately and a consultant called us just as we left the shop but we asked him to call later that day or the next morning but he called again the same day. We were so happy with his service and personality mixed with humor, he even asked us to leave a review here and now I see why, they need great reviews.
Anyway my pet died on the first week of 2 May 2023; came home to her laying on the lounge carpet frozen. I left her happy and playing as I was cleaning outside on that morning, she was playing by the door with the neighbours cat. She wasn’t sick at all and showed no signs of being discomfort able. I did what I had to do and buried her in the front yard. On the 8 May 2023, I informed dotsure as it slipped my mind and I requested that they cancel my policy for Simba as she was no more. This was processed immediately and no questions asked, no advices as to what needs to happen. On the 10th I receive a message from dotsure about reimbur*****t of R157.02, that was confusing as I didn’t know what it was for. Apparently it was the pro rated premium for this month. I opened the contract and read it; I realized Simba was covered for illness or accidental cover but why did anyone say anything. I sent an email ti enquire about this and received an email that was vague, *********, unprofessional & rather ****ed me off. This lady basically suggested that I apply for anaesthesia for Simba, the email she read stated that Simba was dead. Unless the anaesthesia was gonna wake her up. Her bottom line was that, because I found my cat dead and didn’t take her to the doctor, they can’t pay her out. Since last year I’ve paid her premiums and she never even enjoyed any of the benefits but now that she’s dead she’s being punished for not going to the doctor.
Why is this company still in operations? No one is actually happy with their service and some of the staff really needs training.
I just want answers and will not rest until I do, this is the beginning of my rage as Simba was more like a family member to me, my child and now I come home to a slow death of silence.
