UNSATISFACTORY SERVICE FROM DOTSURE PET

I'm writing this review with mix emotions. For years i've been very satisfied and impressed with my pet insurance at Dotsure. Told everyone they the best especially when it came with claiming and payouts. Last year 2023 my Daxi passed on. Dotsure was very helful during the claiming period. This year I adopted two rescue Daxi's and immediately with no hesitation took out pet insurance with Dotsure. They were adopted from Cape Dachshund Rescue and I stay in Mosselbay, it seemed Jock started a skin allergy because of the different environment. As I was still waiting for all the documents to start the process with Dotsure I had to take Jock to the Vet. The Vet indicated that this could be temporally but we will only know in a few weeks as the injection Cytopoint takes 1/2 weeks to work. So I saw the vet on the 13 Feb and took out the insurance on 15 Feb not realizing and thinking that he is going to have a skin allergy. So yes when I was asked for any previous conditions I obviously said No, not thinking this could become a problem. So when the injection was warn off he started to scratch again and the rash started again. On 5 March I took him back to the Vet and the Vet said it seems like it could be an allergy problem. So the Vet gave him another Cytopoint injection. I send in the claim and it was rejected. The consultant informed me that in future I cannot claim for any skin allergy as they see it as a previous condition which I didn't declare. I asked the consultant but is there anyway we can add it on. I was told No, I asked can I cancel and reapply then, she said NO because it's already on my record. So I then said in that case Dotsure cannot help I will have to cancel and then go and apply at another Pet Insurance. The Consultant said she will forward my cancellation to the cancellation department. I understand there is many people that take chances but this was an honest oversee. The disappointing factor is that there is no way Dotsure is prepared to help. I'm sure in future I'll still encounter more problems because when I joined they never asked me for any medical history and as these are two rescue dogs, ages 4/5, there is no medical history, but know when I claimed they wanted a medical history, so how sure will I'll be that when there is another problem/claim with one of them they will say it was a previous condition. Therefore they have lost a loyal client and I will not recommend them to any body in future. I was hoping as a loyal client they could at least assist as they always advertise and say they there to look after your fur family. So I advise people in future pls be cautious when you declare anything.

I received a call from Dotsure but not happy with the response and therefore I'm in the process to cancel my membership. They cant help me in anyway. At least there is other Pet Insurances that accept pre conditions although there is a 12 month waiting period but at least it is something and not nothing like Dotsure. Why pay for something at Dotsure and you don't get the cover you require. I think Dotsure needs to go and look again at their conditions and maybe at least offer people a waiting period of 12 months as they advertise they look after your fur children. Dotsure don't. People contact Oneplan they are excellent with pre conditions as well as Outsurance. I will in future recommend them to my friends and family. Especially the good humans like me when we adopt rescue animals with pre-conditions. All I expected and hoped Dotsure would have also offered a 12 months waiting period.
