Unfair Payment Calculations for Claims | Shortfall Assistance

Dotsure will charge you unreasonable premiums and refuse to pay what is rightfully due to the client should it be time to claim. They will lure you with their trademark promise of paying 10% of the market value of your vehicle should it be written off, to assist with the shortfall.

I am a victim of Dotsure insurance on the vehicle cover I had.

It took more than two months to resolve the claim. Since my car was written off Dotsure was meant to pay the market value of my car less the excesses. Incase of shortfall they would also pay 10% of the market value of my car to assist as promised.

When it was time to pay they certified the market value of the car and deducted the excess. This left me with a shortfall which I expected to be covered by the 10% shortfall assistance which I queried. I had the figure worked out which was 10% of the market value which they provided. Instead of paying me the shortfall amount they went and deducted the excess amount again from the shortfall amount. Meaning they took out the excess money twice.

This was never highlighted or stated anywhere in the documentation. I believe the excess was only suppose to be held off the money they paid for the car and not on the shortfall amount. When I asked they said it was the calculation that they did. Dotsure car insurance showed me flames.

I'll try by all means to sort this matter out.
