Underpayment of Settlement - Assessment based on Photos

I joined Dotsure for our car insurance in February 2020. We have never claimed and then my daughter was in an accident on the 13th March 2021, a hit and run. The damages clearly indicate that the other driver was to blame. We managed to get the registration number, we got the Accident report from SAPS, and we logged the claim. When I received the call from Zukisani, I asked if there was a specific panel beater we should go to, I was told that because of my policy I can go anywhere for a quote. We did this and submitted all the relevant documentation that was required. We then got informed that an assessor was allocate to our claim, when I asked when the assessor would be looking at the vehicle, I was told that this is done via photographs as they are based in George. Then, I received a call from the assessor, he said that he had compared the quote with a quote from their approved panel beater. I was told that their approved panel beater was R3000 less than what we were quoted. I queried as to why we were not referred to said panel beater and was told by the assessor he will supply the details. Then I was told that my policy is what they call a “Cash Policy” which means they pay me the settlement, and I need to buy the parts, get the parts to the panel beater and then get the car repaired. The issue here is the parts prices that were quoted are based on pirate parts. The vehicle is still under warranty, so we require genuine parts and workmanship. We then went to the approved panel beater and obtained a quote ourselves, only to find that the panel beater in fact quote R13 000 MORE than what they quoted the assessor. This was based on seeing the vehicle, and not photographs. When I queried this with the panel beater, they told me that they will not allow clients to buy the parts, as this is not their policy. The settlement was paid to my account, and the amount doesn’t even cover 50% of what the panel beater is going to charge us. I have submitted a dispute on this claim, as I think the assessment via photographs is not the way to do an assessment. Physical damage should be viewed and this was not done by Dotsure. I have had the worst experience with Dotsure this week, and I want what is due for the full repair of a vehicle that I have been paying insurance for. I would like a response from someone higher up

2 weeks later we are actually in a worse off situation than we were. NOW Dotsure approved Panel Beater wont repair the vehicle. The best of all is that I was told that there was too much “drama” around this vehicle prior to us getting a quotation from them. Now my concern is what has been said about a CLIENT to said panel beater? 2 weeks later the issue is still not resolved, the vehicle is still not repaired, I was promised feedback from Zukisani after he spoke to management (no feedback). I was promised feedback from Duran on the issues surrounding the panel beater, and I cannot get through to him today.
