Unacceptable service

I am honestly so disgusted with their per insurance service. Our little Jake, who we adopted as a rescue has been diagnosed with epilepsy and since the seizures are increasing, he has to go onto chronic/monthly meds, but the will only pay for the medication once. Apparently they don't cover chronic conditions. This was never mentioned in the policy or when they encouraged me to join them over MediPet who I was with before. I contacted them before he was put on the meds to double check since it’s R950 per month and was assured it was all fine but I should submit a new claim every time and even pressured into adding an excess buster to the policy which increases the premiums. I'm on the superior plan but now they say I should've chosen the ultimate as they will only pay for the one claim for that illness. Even though they knew it's chronic. What really angers me is that if I now change it will be a pre-existing condition so exclusion periods and excesses will apply. I.e I will now have to pay out of pocket no matter what I do. The worst of all, they say if I upgrade the current policy, even though it's with them, it will still be seen as pre-existing so will be excluded. The nerve to tell me they're a short term insurer. My dog's life is not short term. And this is exactly why I have medical aid for my pets. Epilepsy /seizures is common in basset hounds. So what other hereditary conditions don't they cover? And if my hounds gets cancer like my last two, will they only pay for meds once like this? It's absolutely unacceptable.
