Dear Dotsure,

My name is McDuff. I’m a proud West Highland Terrier—12 years young, thank you very much—and I’ve been under your watchful care for nearly my entire life.

Now, I may be small… but don’t let that fool you. I have a big personality. I’m a professional cuddler, a loyal companion, and—when necessary—a fearless warrior (some might call it “short man syndrome,” I call it courage).

Over the years, I’ve had my fair share of… adventures. A few ear infections here, some rather itchy skin there, and yes—once or twice—I may have found myself in a bit of a scuffle. Purely in the line of duty, of course.

But every single time, you were there.

You made sure I got the care I needed. You helped my human worry a little less (he tries to act tough, but I know better). And when things got uncomfortable or a bit scary, you made sure those hard times didn’t stay hard for long.

Because of you, I’ve been able to get back to the important things: cuddles on the couch, patrols around the house, and reminding everyone that I am, in fact, the boss.

From one very grateful Westie—with a strong bark and an even stronger heart—thank you for taking care of me, and my dad too.
