Poor

Dotsure Car insurance is the worst to deal with, especially if you are a 3rd Party claim!!!!

My son was reversed to by a Dotsure client on the 29th October 2021. He couldn't stop no matter how much he and other cars hooted for him to stop as the traffic was stationary and there were other stationary cars behind him so he couldn't reverse otherwise he could have bumped the car behind him.

Now here is the thing..... he admitted to the fault, put the claim through and everything, the problem is now with his insurance company (Dotsure) that is making everything an uphill battle to get it sorted. The car is parked at my son's friend's place in Sunningdale, Durban North (thank God because it would have been charging daily had it been stored elsewhere). It had to be towed there on the day of the accident. Dotsure wants 3 Quotes before they can process the whole case any further. The quotes cost a lot, the cheapest at R1000. Since my son is self employed and uses this car to get by where is he supposed to get about R4000 for quotes which we are told Dotsure might not use any?

The minute you mention Dotsure Car Repairs / Panel beaters are not interested because of Dotsure's bad reputation on dealing with claims.

All I'm saying is that if you are looking for a car insurance think carefully before being excited by Dotsure's cheap rates. I wouldn't have even known if they existed had it not been for this accident, however, their client was very honest and did everything on his part urgently and applaud him on that.

Before they ask for the case number when they want to defend themselves it's NYP***.

Thank you for the opportunity to make other people aware of such extremely atrocious service.

Just as a follow-up on this case:

Firstly, I would like to thank Hellopeter for this plarform because I can openly say they played a major role in helping us get a bit of a better service in finally getting this matter resolved.

Yes, we eventually got a payout that was based on the market value of the csr and some formula (60:40) calculation, which meant that off the average market value we got given 60% and 40% is kept by dotsure.co.za......some salvage whatever which meant that we keep the car and go fix it ourselves with the 60%.

This meant that a R1000 that we paid for the only one quote that we could get was wasted. Why didn't they go with the salvage market value calculation option in the first place?
As I had meantioned that we desperately needed the car to be in running order as soon as possible we agreed with what was offered and are crossing fingers that all get sorted with the payout as the engine got bumped, so it's not just the body.

Going back to the other part as promised to Annelie De Jager (manager in the liabilities department) that I'm gonna be brutally honest in my feedback, obviously keeping it as professional as possible because we need to help each other going forward:

Some of dotsure.co.za agents can be very rude. They make you feel like you are dumb or a culprit in enquiring about the claim. Some condescending words and harsh responses on your questions are said (good thing is that all calls are recorded), so, they can go back and listen to the calls. This will be to rectify the way the agents attend to the cases, it doesn't matter whether it is a 3rd party or 1st party,,,, it is customer service and it looks bad leaving dotsure.co.za with a bad reputation.
Sometimes even asking for a senior or supervisor or manager was an uphill battle until after I had opted to come to Hellopeter and all the tunes changed.

I won't mention the rude people's names but will gladly mention the ones that eventually treated us like human beings:
Annelie De Jager (mgr liabilities)
Annelize Groenewald (Ass magr liabilities)
Lizelle (team leader) was also of some help to my son

Suggestion that can help all parties going forward:
*Agents must treat people with dignity (words like "since you are so eager for the money" were uttered.... well, we were not so eager for the 1st party to reverse into our car even when every car hooted for him to stop).
*The intention must come across as finding a solution, it must not look like they are trying to find a pinhole to decline or stall tactics for whatever reasons as the other party is being inconvenienced already by the whole matter.
I'm sure all the parties would like everything resolved in the most professional manner and at everyone's earliest convenience.

Would I go for dotsure.co.za as an option?
Until their agents service and the process of documents requirements is simplified, I don't think so. I don't know how many times we had to send affidavits, mandates in drips and draps, which could have been done in the first go. Some were asked for after I asked for an email confirming that all documents had been submitted to them.

Thanks again Hellopeter for the platform.
Much appreciated.
