Payout not met with quoted information
Dear Dotsure Team, I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the recent decision regarding the claim for my cat’s emergency operation. On the day in question, my cat was suffering from severe symptoms due to an obstruction in her intestines caused by constipation. This condition resulted in a high fever and significant disorientation, which required immediate medical attention. Upon consultation with the veterinarian, it was determined that an emergency operation was necessary to address the obstruction and alleviate the life-threatening symptoms. Despite the urgent nature of this situation, I was informed that Dotsure has decided to classify this as an illness rather than an emergency, denying the coverage for the procedure as an emergency operation. This decision is extremely concerning, as the situation clearly presented as an emergency, with the potential for serious health complications if not treated promptly. The nature of the condition—severe constipation causing an intestinal obstruction, high fever, and disorientation—meets the criteria for an emergency operation, and the veterinarian’s recommendation was in line with best medical practices. It is disheartening to believe that this decision is being made in an effort to minimize the payout, especially after Dotsure had quoted the correct coverage before the operation. I trusted Dotsure to honor the terms agreed upon, and I am disappointed that this situation is being treated as anything less than an emergency. I request a full review of this claim, as well as a clear explanation of why the situation was assessed in this way. It is my expectation that Dotsure will reconsider the decision and provide the appropriate coverage for the emergency operation, as initially promised. I look forward to your prompt response and a resolution to this matter. Sincerely,
Louise Snyman
