Not the insurer for you if your animal is prone to hereditary conditions

We were very happy with them until our puppy was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. They don't cover hereditary conditions and would only pay out R1000 for surgery. We even offered to move to the most premium plan and wait 12 months before claiming, but we're not allowed to change plans once he's been diagnosed with a hereditary condition. We've now moved over to One Plan who will cover over R50,000 for surgery for any hereditary condition, provided we wait 12 months. If you have an animal that's prone to hereditary conditions then DotSure is not the insurer for you.
