LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE

I was in a car accident on the 6th May 2024. Dotsure forced me to repair the car which by all rights should have been written off. I had no option but to repair and in good faith went through the process and got the car back from Mike's collision with a request that the back towbar cover be acquired for me as the original one is missing to date Mike's collision has not come back to me. Since I have got the car back it is visible that sub par parts have been used. The seat belts are 2nd hand not original parts which was guaranteed as they are not tensioning correctly therefore posing a safety concern. The car is missing a cover on the engine which Mike's Collision has said you do not get any more but said they would see if they could get s**** yard this has resulted in the car struggling to run and jerking. The car is also making knocking sounds when it goes over slight bumps and sounds terrible. Also there is definite sub standard workmanship done on the car and is visible to the eye. I am genuinely not happy with the repairs and paying for insurance and for a car that is not what it is supposed to be. I had a Dekra report done by Dotsures request which clearly indicates the level of workmanship that was carried out on this vehicle. If this is the level of workmanship that is accepted in this industry and by insurance c companies we have a very shocking sense of pride and self worth. This repairer should not be an accredited service provider as they clearly went in with the lowest price and used alternative and used parts which clearly are shown by the Dekra report as incorrect. I got a quote from an accredited Ford part dealer and it clearly shows a major short cut was taken on the parts: R 82 925.37 vs. R 43 047.20 exl. Vat. if you add Fords quote and the repairers other prices add vat you will get over R 110 000 which is way above the all in repair amount. The preferred supplier has used alternative and used parts, were not discussed or advised before the time. As per the formal response on page 5 "The amount would be based on quotations submitted and the labour, paint and parts would be determined by the insurer on the same terms as agreed upon with its preferred suppliers." This was clearly not checked by Dotsure that these parts were correct and of a standard that should be accepted.

The repairer advised originally that the airbags and seat belts would be new and there is a price discrepancy between the quotes. The hard lamps installed are defective and not correct as per the Dekra report and the Ford quote clearly shows why as the incorrect lights were installed for my model of car and they were second hand.

As a result of the sub-standard workmanship this car has just cost me an additional R 5000 for a part which was cracked in the accident. The car kept switching off while driving.

I have opened a case at the Ombudsman which nothing has come off or as they say "investigations" take time but I am driving a very unsafe car but I have no option as a single mom to get to work and drive my child around. I am putting my child and my life in danger by driving this car but I have no choice.
