Insurance payout dispute and Rude staff!
Good day On the 26th of April, I claimed with Dotsure Insurance after I had an incident where my items were taken and damaged by ********s.
Dotsure advised me to open a case and send through the police report and ITC number, I also submitted a quotation for the damaged phone.
On the 21st or 22nd of May, I received feedback from a lady called Lelani, if not Lianca, saying claim number *** was approved and there would be a payout of R5000 as I did not have proof of ownership, and my quote was sent to them was 30k. I then told them that when I took this insurance, I did mention that I got my iPhone as a gift, but I can get them proof of ownership. The following day, I submitted the evidence; they then said I needed to ask the owner to sign a concern form and I must send a screenshot of my iCloud account, which I wasn't comfortable doing as I feel that should be private. Then later, I made a follow-up, and I was told that they were still investigating. On the 22nd, I received an outcome for claim number *** that was approved, and they made a payout. On the 23rd, I then sent the signed concern form with no reply. On Saturday, 24th May, I received an email stating that my cover was terminated immediately. I then called back to get clarity; they told me that I was a high risk and they couldn't afford to cover me anymore. On Monday the 26th, I received a call from Lianca stating that "she's the one who requested my iCloud acc and the concern letter, and further she had contact with Vodacom Forensic and confirmed that the proof of ownership that I sent to them was *****ulent and they had to cancel my policy for dishonesty and they will summon me for the payment that was made to me and blacklist me on the insurance board". When I requested communication from Vodacom and told her that I could forward the email that we've received from Vodacom, she then rep**** (Rude) that she was not interested and would continue with the legal action. I then received an email from her confirming the termination of my policy. Today, I received a call from the legal team saying I should pay back the money that was paid to me, and they sent an email of summons.
I'm not sure if this is how you treat clients when you'll have to pay out.
I would love to get the communication that Lianca got from Vodacom Forensic, as she claimed that the information given to her was *****ulent, and I would love to know what actions will be taken Odacom Forensic communication that I've also requested on my end.
