Insurance is keeping my car!!

On January I got an accident, I claimed on insurance the insurance instructed me to take my car to Krugersdorp at it panelbeater, they sent a towing car to collect my car at SMD in chamdor. I was told the car will be assessed within a week and I will be informed of the results. The spend a week after a week it was assessed and I was told that the car is a write-off. I refused and I was told in order to reduce cost they will use second hand parts to fix the car.I didn't had a problem with that, I was never called and I would call the insurance on every 2 days to make a follow up and on March I was told that the insurance won't be able to cover me but I was never told, I only receive the information the time I called to make a follow up.After 3 days being told I went to Krugersdorp to collect the car so that I can fix it on my cost,unfortunately when I get to the storage the owner told me to pay R14265.00 for storage and towing because the insurance didn't pay for me.I phone the insurance to ask them to call the owner of the storage to release my vehicle but unfortunately I was told am the 1 hu is suppose to pay that money.so the lady I spoke to couldn't help me..it's been 5 months
