DotSure not a sure deal

my vehicle got vandalized. I emailed them the same afternoon. I reported it and they took like 3 days for them to contact me. Obviously I was traumatized by the whole ordeal. They broke a mirror which I fixed. I told them i wish to claim for the radio and speakers that was damaged. They started immediately like insurance companies do and look for loopholes not to pay out. First, why didn't I report it to the police immediately...well, I was waiting for them to assist me so I would understand the steps. Then they say but the radio isnt the factory fitted as specified. I said well, the factory fitted unit is 10K and the unit I replaced it with is 3.5K so their payout would be a third of the value...so they should be happy... They then said well the excess is now 3500 and not 500 as specified in the contract.

I am glad I am away from them and will not recommend them to anyone for vehicle insurance or any insurance. I will be sure to also demote them at any chance I get. I am tired of these companies in SA that are all talk and no backbone.
