Dotsure Mechanical Warranty – Claim Handling Disappointment

I am extremely disappointed with how my first-ever claim with Dotsure Mechanical Warranty was handled. I followed all the required procedures as outlined in my policy. I took my vehicle to an RMI-approved workshop, where my steering rack was booked in for inspection and a full assessment. After a thorough inspection, the workshop confirmed that the symptoms were consistent with a failing steering rack. Despite this professional assessment and my compliance with all claim requirements, my claim was declined based on “wear and tear.” This outcome is frustrating, especially considering that the failure was properly diagnosed by a qualified, approved workshop and not merely assumed or speculative. As a first-time claimant, this experience has been disappointing and has left me questioning the value of the mechanical warranty if legitimate failures are dismissed so easily under wear-and-tear exclusions. I am requesting that Dotsure review my claim again, considering the inspection findings and the fact that the failure was confirmed by an RMI-approved workshop. However, should this issue remain unresolved, I will have no alternative but to escalate the matter to the relevant Ombudsman for further investigation.

following a recent call with a DotSure representative who provided me with an audio recording of the technician’s assessment.

After carefully listening to the recording between the technician and the DotSure consultant, it became apparent to me that the technician is not fully fluent in English. As a result, there is a strong likelihood that his explanations may have been misunderstood or misinterpreted. This concern was deeply compounded by the consultant’s conduct during the conversation, which I found to be dismissive, interruptive, and unprofessional.

The consultant repeatedly spoke over the technician, failed to allow him the opportunity to explain his assessment, and appeared to draw conclusions prematurely. Rather than seeking clarification, the consultant disregarded the technician’s input and proceeded to make subjective and inappropriate remarks about my vehicle.

Of particular concern was the consultant’s characterization of my 2013 vehicle as “old” with “high mileage,” accompanied by an offensive comment describing it as being “OVERTIME” and likening it to an old Citi Golf manufactured in or around 1986. I found this comparison not only irrelevant to the assessment at hand but also unnecessarily disparaging and deeply unsettling. Such remarks undermine confidence in the objectivity and fairness of the evaluation process.

I am extremely gutted by this experience. As a policyholder, I expected a fair, respectful, and unbiased assessment of my claim. Instead, I was left with the impression that my claim was dismissed without due consideration, and that the technician’s professional input was neither adequately respected nor properly evaluated.

Given the significant impact this decision has on me, I believe this matter warrants serious review. I respectfully request that the conduct of the consultant, as well as the conclusions drawn from this interaction, be reconsidered to ensure that my claim is assessed fairly, objectively, and with the professionalism I am entitled to expect.

I trust that DotSure will treat this concern with the seriousness it deserves and provide clarity on the steps that will be taken to address this matter.
