Dotsure Extended Motor Warranty is not going to cover your parts. You will have to BEG for it!

Dotsure have an interesting and transformed business model that's shaking up the insurance industry. Unfortunately the same mistrust that insurers have is something they have inherited.

I've had my motor extender warranty for more than a year. I was clear on it being a warranty and not service insurance. I've been unable to claim for parts because unless the part is mechanically not functioning as in you get stuck on the side of the road or your part breaks unexpectedly and you can prove that it mechanically malfunctioned then you are not covered.

In my scenario, I went in for a service. The part that was mechanically malfunctioned was not covered and it was put into the category of wear and tear even though its on the list of parts that are covered. According to my understanding, I would need to have continue driving my vehicle and extend my risk and only then will it be covered upon a breakdown or when it mechanically malfunctions. My efforts for maintaining my vehicle are not covered even if the mechanical malfunction is found during a scheduled service.

So I deduce that there is a very small window for claims to be accepted. If your part is discovered to be at risk of a mechanical malfunction, it will not be covered. If it does malfunction, you would need to be in a very slim position where you were not held responsible for maintaining your part... which they would not have paid for if its something you picked up prior anyway!
