Dotsure does not create fans
Don't take out extended warranties for your car with them, they will search for any excuse not to pay.
I have a Ford Kuga, on the 15th of February 2025 it lost power and smelt really bad from the engine. Dotsure towed the car to the mechanic on Tuesday 18 February 2025. They had a call once the car was assessed with the mechanic and the mechanic used the words "factory issue" because he has seen this problem once before so its now a "common issue". Dotsure refused the claim due to his wording.
I then went as far as too take all evidence findings etc to Ford directly and have confirmation from Ford that it is not a factory defect/issue and still the claim is denied. The mechanic has gone back to state that to Dotsure it is a mechanical failure and still after all of this they will not pay out the claim even after confirmation directly from Ford that this is a mechanical failure. There are no parts for this vehicle namely head gasket ,oil pump, pistons, piston rings etc to strip the motor is a futile exercise at this point as cylinder 4 has failed and there is oil bypassing and loss of compression, only option is a complete motor replacement over R60 000.00 to strip the motor is going to cost an extra R10 000.00, something we just do not have the finances for when an engine replacement is over R60 000.00. Their claims handlers are also unresponsive and unprofessional they don't answer emails and when you call the 1 dealing with your case is unavailable and so you speak to someone else and then they just send you an email, customer service is lacking here. Very disappointed in my overall experience with Dotsure you pay premiums every month to keep your investment lasting longer when failures happen but alas they take your money happily and then refuse to assist when these failures happen.
