Dot Sure Claims NIGHTMARE

I got in an accident on the 5th November 2018. I was then towed by my insurer DOT SURE(OAKHURST insurer) to their preferred panel beater. My nightmare began right there after the car has been towed, it took me several days and calls to get my car assessed, after the assessor conducted a digital assessment he therefore excluded a number of things to be fixed from tyre damage to dents citing that he feels that it’s not related to the accident even though he is not even sure what hit the car where in that event neither am i an accident expert to know which dent should happen how in and accident event, an even more sad part he sent an approved assessed quote which was far less than the panel beaters quote appointed by them. I asked for the proof that panel beater would agree to be paid that amount for repairs but none could be provided. The assessor then gave me a guy who will sell me BMW parts very reasonable they say, are the parts legal? Any guarantees? That could only be the assessors’ word to guarantee that they are genuine. When I asked BELINDA the manager about the quotes she told me in my face that they will only pay what they would have paid for such an accident. I suggested they request a quote from some of their reasonable providers but that couldn’t be welcomed as well. As I write this now my car is 4 months with their panel beater I even asked the ombuds office to intervene which is still dragging now. My fellow associates with a business fleet I hope u find yourself not in the same set up. I was also told that I took a cash policy and that’s what it is obviously the policy was done hastily at dealership I wouldn’t have signed up for this nonsense had I known. Currently no one has the knowledge of the extend damage undercarriage currently including the assessor who does the assessment by checking photos sitting in an office from another province. The scariest part is that once the release form has been signed any additional damage that could be discovered by the panel beater will mean even more misery as there are no guarantees for further claims. Anyone with a similar situation ?

Good Day Mr Magosane  We confirm that you have already approached the offices of the Ombudsman for Short term insurance and that there is currently a pending case with them.  The Ombudsman’s office is the forum that you have chosen to adjudicate this matter and as such you should adhere to their terms of reference and procedures. You have to wait for their outcome and refrain from addressing the issues which are currently being considered by their offices on any other platform such as this one.  We have already comprehensively addressed all of your concerns hereunder with the Ombudsman and we are waiting for their recommendation. We are accordingly not going to address these allegations on this forum, as you have chosen a different, more formal adjudication platform and we urge you to keep to that forum.  We trust that you find this in order.  Kind Regards

Dotsure Resolutions Team
