DO NOT INSURE WITH DOTSURE INSURANCE COMPANY, THEY ARE A **** THEY DON’T PAY CLAIMS

I was insured with the Dotsure company for my uber vehicle and upon registering online, I received a call thereafter to finalise the policy. There was a lady by the name Monique Groenewald who called and verified my details and I specifically advised her that the car would be used for Uber and Taxify. I had subsequently received another call from another Dotsure employee by the name Dillen who wanted to offer additional products to the policy and who also was verifying what the cover entails. I also specified to him that I was not looking for any additional products but only a comprehensive cover for Uber. I was also told that in order to be covered , I would need to have a Netstar tracking device installed on my vehicle, and to take my vehicle to be taken to PG Glass for inspection. All of the requirements were met as far as their specifications went. Then on the 30th Oct 2020, my car was involved in an accident. I liaised with Dotsure claim department and my claim was allocated to a lady by the name Andiswa Goliath. I was advised on where to take the vehicle for quotation, as it was still drivable. When I got to the panelbeaters closer to where I reside, I was advised by someone that Dotsure doesn’t cover claims and that their clients are always complaining with their claims being rejected. It raised my eyebrows as I never did any research prior upon taking cover with them. I got my quotation and went to traffic department to obtain a copy of the Accident Report, and I was under the impression that all that was required was sufficient having submitted all documentation. I received another call from Vuyani Maloyi who is in the investigation team wanting to verify what the vehicle was being used for. I advised him that it was for Uber and Taxify and he said that the cover I took online was for business and I never indicated that I needed cover for passenger for reward. I advised that when applying online, I chose the business cover and when I received a call from one of his colleagues, I specified on 2 separate occasions that the vehicle would be used for Uber and Taxify and there was no mention that the cover taken would be at a detriment of my policy. A day or two later, I received a call from Jade Maart who works at the retentions team advising me that my car is a write off and they want to cancel my policy as I shouldn’t be paying for a car that won’t be on the road. I indicated to him that because I am in the Uber business, I would probably add another vehicle soonest once I become settled. He said, if that is the case, I would need to call again and get the car insured. A few minutes after we finished our conversation, I received a rejection letter from their claim department indicating reasons for them rejecting the claim that I never specified that the car would be used to transport passengers for reward. I was astonished and immediately called Andiswa Goliath who was responsible for my claim. I advised her that I did specify telephonically that the car would be used for uber, and I also requested specific telephonic records where I interacted with the Dotsure team. Andiswa advised that if I had advised telephonically what the sole intended purpose for the car was, it would be reviewed by management and potentially be reviewed and covered They sent the records back to me and I listened to them and identified the ones where I specified that the vehicle would be used for Uber and Taxify, and immediately sent back to Dotsure for review. I later received an email from Andiswa indicating that I will not be covered. I then received another call from a lady who handles the Netstar portfolio by the name Bianca Arendse that I have signed to take the Netstar tracking device and would need to continue with the contract or pay an amount equivalent to R3000 to avoid legal action. I advised her that it was not my decision to make to cancel the policy as it was done by Dotsure, and I did not understand why I had to continue with the policy yet Dotsure said it was compulsory to take the Netstar tracking device upon commencing cover with them. I liaised with her to attempt to deinstall and install the device on another vehicle I had, they never called me to make arrangements for that but they continued debiting my account for the tracking device. Now, I am left with a vehicle that need fixing yet I was covered and did everything to their requirements.

This is my first time coming across such service an inferior service from the above company and I would not encourage anyone to take cover with them. The only way you will know whether your cover with them is legitimate, is upon claim stage and I am certain that there would be a lot of negative reviews to follow soon as they do not pay claims.

Below is their rejection letter
