Do Dotsure violate the Popi Act by sharing your banking details with third party?
Thought it would only be fair that I nail Dotsure for this, they are the ones who insisted I have a Netstar tracker. yet they failed to cancel it once i was no-longer insured by them. It begs the question do Dotsure violate the Popi Act by sharing your banking details with a third party? So I phone Netstar this morning. Tried to explain to them Dotsure wrote off my car. I no longer have it. It has been s****ped yet Netstar are debiting my bank account for the cartrack device! I was amazed when their consultant told me the only way I could cancel the service was through the insurance company. I keep blocking the debit order but that costs me money! Only advice I can give is do not let your Insurance company bully you into using Netstar. And if you leave your insurance for any reason, insist on record that they cancel Netstar. It is not like the tracking device which is over seven years old actually costs Netstar anything anymore! What makes me angry with Dotsure is that this is a know issue and by now they should have canceled any ability by the car-track company to bill clients directly. I did not share my information with Netstar, especially my banking details. I feel strongly this is a violation of the popi act by Dotsure sharing my banking details with Netstar!!!! When I asked Netstar how they got my banking details they could not answer just saying it is an agreement they have with insurance companies? Odd surely the agreement should be with me?
