BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN SIGNING UP A CAR INSURANCE WITH DOTINSURE ONE HAS TO READ IN BETWEEN THE LINES AND BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINES

I had taken a policy with Dotsure on my car, previously I had my car insurance with discovery but was advised that Dotsure is cheaper, so I changed my policy to Dotsure, now that I had an accident through no fault of mine and was not able to get the person responsible as it was a hit and run case, there was not major damage and when I took the policy out with Dotsure I was not told that there are two types of policy one is comprehensive and the other is cash pay out which when Dotsure pays out they also take part of the pay out, this is how Dotsure assess the damages, they ask the client to take pictures of the the damages, pictures are very deceiving taken by clients, I submitted these pictures and the assessor came back with a figure of R9816 of which Dotsure took out R2500 out of that amount, when I was with Discovery the car was assessed by their assessor and sent to their approved panel beaters and proper service was given, so in fact Dotsure misinterpret their service they give to their clients basically we are taken for a rough ride, I have taken my car to a few panelbeaters and the quote comes to between 12 to 15 thousand rand, I am seriously thinking of changing to another insurance company or go back to discovery and pay that little extra, I would never recommend Dot insurance to anyone because they cannot afford to pay for a proper assessor to evaluate the damages when one meets with an accident
