bad service from dotsure

it is really an awkward experience when you have to pay insurance for 12 months and not miss a payment worse part they even take payment even after the accident of your car but when u put through a claim an they no longer want to pay or help you out just because you exceeded their 1000kms per month protocol by 133kms and speed by 55kms instead of 44kms/hr . im really dissappointed in dot sure insurance because when they want you to join they promise all the good things and cover but at the end they dont deliver .

Dear Lungile

You had a claim for an accident that occurred on 28 July 2018 under your Dotsure Name Your Price Policy which was declined after verification thereof.

We confirm there is specific limits that apply to your cover as per your Policy Schedule. The “Total Kilometres per Month” limitation provides that your vehicle will only be covered for the first 1 000 kilometres driven every month. As per our records, it was established that you travelled 1 133km from 1 July 2018 up to the date of the incident. We confirm that you have exceeded the 1 000km limitation during the month of July 2018. As such, your claim was declined.

Further to that, our records confirm the speed limit governing the stretch of road where the accident occurred is 60km/h. We confirm at the time of loss, you were driving 116km/h. This indicated that you exceeded the maximum speed limit on the road by 56km/h, shortly before impact.

We are of the opinion that your actions at the time of the accident would suggest that you were reckless when you drove at excessive speeds. We confirm that you have deliberately exposed the insured vehicle, yourself, as well as other road users to all the dangers that go hand in hand with high speed driving. We confirm that you have not comp**** with the terms and conditions of you policy, and exposed your Insurer to undue risk.

Regrettably, taking the above into consideration we cannot fault the Insurer’s decision herein.
