A very factual statement of what has been happening over the past 6 months. Dotsure is honestly a business I do not respect and who seem to care more about their “fans” than actual business or ethical values.
I sincerely believe dotsure is run by *********** individuals. I have had the worst experience trying to get a payout through them. This is not the first time I have posted - after making a bad review they will inevitably call me and apologise however nothing will be accomplished by this. It is all for show and to try maintain somewhat of a good reputation.
These are the facts of the matter: - Their client crashed into me. He admitted to the fault and did not seem stressed as he has car insurance from Dotsure. - dotsure took months go get back to him and me about any sort of resolution, with me following up on a weekly basis. All promises, no action. - when they finally offered me a settlement it was R30,000 out of R100,000 damage. Unacceptable so I declined the offer. I called them asking them to explain how they calculated R30k, after such they gave me a breakdown and got to an offer of R47k. NB. DO NOT ACCEPT THEIR FIRST OFFER AS THEY WILL TRY PULL THE WOOL OVER YOUR EYES AND GIVE YOU A BULL**** OFFER. The 47k was again not enough to cover damages of R100k and I therefore got a lawyer involved. - my lawyer told me the cases they were quoting were bull**** and they tried to use a 60:40 apportionment method which again was not appropriate, especially considering the other driver admitted full responsibility for the accident! He even signed an affidavit stating liability. - Dotsure did not respond to my lawyer for a number of weeks, and when they finally did they went back to their initial offer of R30k and said they would be unwilling to represent their client based on the fact that he signed an acknowledgement of liability. - we are in the process of going after their client which is absolutely unfortunate as he is a respectable client of theirs, paying his monthly premiums. He thought he had cover from Dotsure and now he will have to fork out R100k damage. If I were you I would NEVER sign up with them. That is absolutely ridiculous and should not be happening.
I have no doubt I will be getting a call from Dotsure to say they are sorry and whatever they have to to get me to change my mind, but after dealing with them for 6 months there is nothing that can change my mind at this stage.
The worst part is I am not even their client and I have SUCH a bad taste in my mouth. It seems they do not care about their brand reputation for R100k ( or actually R50k differential between their offer and the amount). For a large company like this it seems a bit ridiculous that it comes down to small amounts like this for them but here we stand and their true colours show.
