Complaints
First I want to start out by saying that Dominos pizza Walker Drive Port Elizabeth don't care about their customers at all.
My incident took place a month ago already on 07/09/2017: There was a carpet by the door of the restaurant which covered a small step that leads into the restaurant. There are no signs to warn you that in fact there is a step however small it might be. I got my order and my hands were full with my grocery bags and the food i ordered from them and I did look where I walked like I always do and to me the floor looked level meaning I didnt see the step at all because I thought it was even ground. Turns out I was wrong, stepped on the wrong part, there where the step starts and my ankle twisted because of that. But the carpet covered that and hence I just walked as if it was even ground. I fell and hurt my hand and knee so bad. My colddrink burst open in the bag and spoiled all my groceries. First financial loss. Second: my hand was so badly injured and was bleeding perfusely because the cut was deep. I simply had to get up and get home. Plus at the time I was in shock and embarrassed about the fall. I also injured my knee and my neck and back is still in pain because of this. I had to buy bandages and savlon sanitiser and plasters and pain ****ers. Second financial loss by the way. The three people who was standing outside the building immediately tried to help me up and asked if I was okay. I should've taken their names as witnesses and I realise now, but at the time the pain and shock and embarrassment of the fall was too much to bare and they too said to me and amongst themselves its that carpet. I went to work and my manager saw the extent of my injuries. I was informed by someone who knows the law and said to me that I am entitled to lay a claim for financial loss and pain and suffering caused due to negligence on the restaurant's part. I proceeded to do so and the regional manager of Dominos Barend Olivier said that he will investigate it and then I asked but surely you guys must have footage. He said yes and asked me to send the medical expense slips of which at the start I didn't think to keep all of them since I was made aware that I do have a right to make a claim due to my injuries because of their negligence only at a later stage. I finally got to view footage more than a month later on 13/10/2017. I took a witness with me to view the footage also to see maybe something which I could possibly miss but the footage showing the doorway where I tripped is of such bad quality and inconclusive that you cannot see this evidence. I then went to centre management of Walker Drive shopping Center, Port Elizabeth and the lady who works in the centre management office was downright rude to me also passing the blame that I was the one who tripped and fell, and I asked if she can give me the footage showing from another angle but it was as if she was already informed and briefed because without going to her system she immediately knew who I was and which incident I referred to and refused to show me footage or send it on to Dominos headoffice saying that the three people who were standing outside that day blocked the footage and you cannot see anything but still didn't want to give it to me. Both Dominos and the centre in which they are situated immediately shifting the blame to the customer without the blink of an eye and even the regional manager showed me that he had the footage on his phone which was also unclear therefore also inconclusive to prove this and of bad quality and I asked that he pass it on to me but he hasn't even responded. No responsibility, no care all they take. They just say to me but you're the first one to fall here ever and also that the restaurant has been there 8 years no one else has ever fallen. So now they even making me the ",guilty" party for falling. News flash...who ever was bright enough that day to place the carpet on the step caused you these problems because I know it was there and another news flash..there is a first time for everything in life. Follow me on Twitter under Dominos Sa you will see the pics and story I tweeted yesterday on their page. I must fight for myself because I know exactly what happened that day and they want to just sweep it under the rug...sorry for the pun....you are given your restaurant, your brand and your international partners as franchisees a very bad name.
