In August 2017, I was unaware that my medical aid had not paid the account and unbeknown to me I was handed over to their attorneys. Not a single email or telephone call informing me of my debt. Upon being handed over to the lawyers, I then queried the account n Feb 2018 including legal costs and requested that the actual email correspondences be sent to me as I would be happy to pay legal costs if this was the case. I had not received any feedback from them and settled the account of R597 in May 2018 without the legal fees included. I have still to date been harassed by their attorneys to settle my account and pay legal costs yet neither party has provided me with proof of email notes sent to me stating that I was in arrears. Their lawyers have now apparently listed me on ITC and are still demanding a payment of over R1000. This matter is now being investigated by higher authorities. When it comes to principles, one has to stand up for their rights.
