COMPLAINT - DR H GELDENHUYS / DRS NAY & PARTNERS
On 15-08-2021, I received treatment from Dr H Geldenhuys for a cut on my finger. My complaint is that Dr Geldenhuys took a used pack from the patient next to me, threw the instruments onto the counter top then threw alcohol over the instruments and in the qualified doctors mind, these instruments were now sterile? As a medical rep who works in theatre, I was horrified to see this.
On 12-10-2021, I received an sms from Sunninghill Hospital for a request of R1021.35 to be paid, which I promptly paid for. (No Tax invoice had been received for this, only the sms)
On 26-10-2021, I received another sms from Drs Nay & Partners for a further request of R2213.81 to be paid and was threatened that legal action will be taken if I do not pay within 20 days. My complaint here is that I never received a Tax Invoice for this either, only an sms was received over 3 months later?
After numerous phone calls to the accounts department this morning (26-10-2021), I have finally received my Tax Invoice / Statements for the cut on my finger that required 2 stitches, the total value of the Invoices amounts to R3235.16. For the R3235.16 that I was charged, did it include a sterile pack that was unfortunately not used on me?
I am absolutely appalled at the service I have received from Dr H Geldenhuys, Netcare Sunninghill Hospital and Drs Nay & Partners.
1. A sterile pack was never used on me. 2. No Tax Invoices were received as they were using the incorrect email address, surely going into casualty, they would have confirmed my contact details? 3. The exorbitant price over and above the casualty fee, to put 2 stiches into my finger which took him 2 minutes to do. Is this not way above above medical aid rates? I would hate to know what the charges would have been should it have been a major procedure.
