Sold a 'Dud' Car

Buying a car is an emotional decision, but I tried to go into it with my brain engaged. I saw an ad for a 2009 Ford Focus 2.5 ST and fell inlove. I went to view the car. Though old, it had low mileage and was in excellent condition to the eye. I asked if it had been involved in any accidents and was told only a minor incident, nothing serious. I had the car 7 days and the oil cooler failed. I then found out the car was involved in two serious accidents and the previous owner's insurance actually took the car in and settled. The car had gone over a railway line and needed a new dashboard, just as a start. I received a copy of the TransUnion report on the car. Mileage, Reg numbers, accident history, nothing corresponded, except the VIN number and make and model. I eventually got the deal reversed, but asked for a reimbur*****t of R700 for fuel (I got the car empty, he got it back more than half) and the few days of insurance I paid after the oil cooler failed (the car was taken away and I was not told, till today, where it went / is). I was told I should be grateful and my personality was questioned because I asked for the R700. Clearly a small-time dealer!!
