Poor Service on the Manufacture of a Gate

<p>I was given Divan's details from Facebook to supply a fit a sliding gate.</p> <p>He requested a deposit. Before I paid the deposit I checked to see if he was listed on Hellopeter, or anywhere else.</p> <p>It is always risky paying over a deposit, but as I am reasonably trusting I paid the deposit.</p> <p>He manufactured the gate which was fine. He installed the rail for the gate and he installed the gate. I had mentioned that the rail needs to take heavy trucks driving over it, and after checking the installation I pulled up the rail and re-installed it myself at my cost. I asked him to weld extra feet on the rail which he did.</p> <p>The rail was slightly further away from the gate posts, so a small modification was needed to the gate bracket to take into account this difference.</p> <p>I told Divan that in good faith I would pay the balance of the account and he promised to finish off the installation.</p> <p>During this whole process he was always late on work that he promised, with no communication, and I had to constantly chase him up for answers.</p> <p>Once I paid the balance of the account, he promised on at least 3 occassions to come and finish the work, but failed to turn up, and eventually he just stopped taking my calls or answering messages.</p> <p>My recommendation is stay way from him and his company.</p> <p> </p>
