DM Leatherworx

I started collecting leather working tools about 18 months ago. all I ould get in Port Elizabeth were from basically one outlet. All there products are CCC brand (CheapChinesium****), being of advanced years I am not comfortable buying on line, i like to inspect the feel and quality of what I am purchasing. After pulling my hair out i found DM Leatherworx and thought **** or get off the pot, so I jumped in feet first and palced my first order about a year ago. I have brought from them on three seperatre occasions and found their service excellent. On my second order I asked for a bundle of John James numbers 1.2 and 3. In PE icould only find number 3 needles. The paecel arrived in 3 days from placing my order. In error i got two packs of number 3 needles. I was frustrated because i neede the smaller needles for a project. I called the mobile number for DM Leatherworx and spoke to the owner Desire, after explaining my fustration she said not a problem. The next morning before 9 am the courier was at my door with a pack of twenty number 2 needles. Now that is service and when i called to thank her and asked what i should do with the pack of spare number 3 needles her comment was " keep them". She has an infectious laugh and is a joy to talk to and extremly easy to get along with. On my last order I brought their 1.5 mm brass handled punch. To say I had been looking for the past 18 months for this is not an exaggeration, overcoming my skeptitism about on line shopping I broke down and orderedfrom a Johannesberg company, a set of punches, as you can not just buy the 1.5 mm by itself. Yup it was a set of CCC tools about as blunt as my ex mother-in-law, really blunt and so tiny, about the length of my pinkie and bout 10 % of the size. My hands are large and working with this tool was impossible especially when you need to punch 500 plus holes for a project. After speaking to Desire she told me she sourced this 1.5 mm punch from a local engineering firm, hats off to them. This tool is a joy and a pleasure to work with . Any leather crafter out there in SaFrIca needs to buy one guarantee you will not regret it.
