POOR AND ABOMINABLE STINKING SERVICE
In December, on the 24th December 2019, a traveling suitcase with all my wife's and children's clothes was lost in the hands of DMJ Buses and I've made a trillion calls to them and no one is doing anything in recovering these till to date. This is the email I sent to them after several calls:
"On the 24th December 2019 I accompanied my wife (Zolelwa Connie Pangeni: ***) and 3 children to Park Station to catch a DMJ bus to Alice. Firstly, the bus was scheduled to leave at 15H30 and only arrived after 2 hours, which I found VERY unprofessional and disrespectful to the commuters. But that’s beside the point. Upon arrival, we started queuing waiting for our luggage to be packed in by the DMJ staff. When our turn came, I gave a big bag (with 2 bags inside it) and a black suitcase with blue zip to the DMJ packer. Subsequent to these bags being packed, I then went inside the bus to bid my family farewell.
Fast forward to that: on the 25th December 2019, I then got a call from my wife stating that:
1. The DMJ bus driver told everyone to jump off in Queenstown and would not continue the journey to East London (via Alice), so everyone had to jump to a Sprinter Taxi to their destination. a. Once again, DMJ treated their “customers” as some piece of cake, whilst we paid for a Bus Ticket (not bus-taxi ticket) to our various destinations. This was neither pre-communicated nor stated when we bought the tickets. I still DEMAND an apology for this from DMJ and will DEFINITELY take further steps should it not happen
2. The big Black suitcase with all my family’s clothes, which are worth more than R10 000, could not be found in the bus.
To cut a long story short, I called DMJ several times letting them know about this incident and no one could assist in tracing this suitcase.
My wife informed me that one of the packers, who was also travelling with the bus driver, admitted that the luggage was mixed up according to different jump off cities.
Now, the situation is that my wife’s suitcase went missing whilst it was in the bus. I therefore request that this matter is escalated and investigated accordingly so that this suitcase is retained.
This is the first time we used your services and hope that you will do the right thing and we will be treated with respect.
Thank you" Dated: 03 January 2020
This is the response I got subsequent to the above email: Dated 09 January 2020:
