Bad Removal Experience

I want to warn all People who plan to use the services of DMD Removal. I place this as a result of a very bad moving experience.

I contracted them to move a 3-bedroom house in a large truck, after sending them a furniture and packing list, commencing on 10 September for R5500. They arrived in an Iveco delivery van and single axle trailer. I told them the vehicle and trailer is inadequate and was told a story of the big truck breaking down. It was then decided to split the move in two loads. I agreed to this out of desperation and proceeded to load.

The vehicle and trailer were loaded by 1 pm and they departed for Klerksdorp. I left at 2 pm and arrived at 4:45 pm. DMD Removal arrived at 8 pm that night, a total of 7 hours on the road. By this time, I had paid the full quoted amount.

It was agreed that once off loaded they would return to Pretoria and load the second half that night. This never happened until Sunday morning when they eventually started loading. They eventually left Pretoria at 5 pm that afternoon and only arrived at 1 am Monday morning after 8 hours on the road. I was then charged a further amount of R1500 and had to pay it before they began off-loading my goods. This was done by 4 am Monday morning.

At the end of all this, I am out of a broken mirror, missing tool box and some boxes that I cannot trace. Also they left behind a number of items of furniture that I have to abandon as they wanted another R4200 to move 8 items for me. I still have not received my final invoice for the move either. A basic company policy.

While all this was taking place the owners never bothered to communicate with me until I had to phone numerous times. I made numerous phone calls per day to 2 cell numbers including the agent and the driver just to get the owners to contact me to inform me of what is happening.

I would not recommend their services and in hindsight should not have taken the cheapest quote. But when someone else is paying for your move you do not want to take advantage thereof.

Therefore, I warn you rather to use an alternative company as DMD Removal are unreliable, dishonest and do not take any responsibility for their employees and do not communicate with their customers.
