Settlement Balance Discounts

Can DMC review their discount that they offer to clients in order to close accounts a 10% discount when you owe R17,500 what is that !!! during this time (Covid19) some of use are not working with full pay salaries and yet debt collectors expect us to pay almost the whole amount. Banks are offering debt relief to clients so why debt collectors. A friend of mine was offered a 40% discount on her debt from Alliance Services but DMC chooses not to offer the same bracket of discounts.
