******* collecting prescribed debt and listing
I had a capitec bank loan account that prescribed in 2016 but in 2017 a lady called Khethiwe from DMC called me demanding payment and threatening to list me on credit bureaus which they did, they *******ly collected prescribed debt and when I call them to remove that DMC account that was *******ly listed and money collected they refused. I did log a complain with credit ombudsman.

05 Nov 2018, 15:28The Prescription Act provides that the basic period of prescription shall be 30 years in respect of any 'judgement of debt' and 3 years for 'any other debt'. The effect is that in the case of 'any other debt' where no payment has been made for a period of 3 years, the debt has “prescribed”.

Prescription is a rule of law that is designed to bring finality to disputes. It's regulated by the Prescription Act 68 of 1969 (“the Act”). A debt, which is described as the payment of money or delivery of goods or services, will prescribe after the lapse of a certain time period. DMC collected debt it prescribed. Anyone out there don't give this ********** you money. Pittt I didn't know my rights then and they took advantage
