Harassing messages/ Prescribed Debt

I keep getting threatening messages from DMC for old debt. I am really sick and tired of this harassment now. This morning I got one from them that I had an Foschini account in 2007. I phoned Foschini and they informed me that I now longer have an account with them. Now after 8 years I get messages to pay the outstanding amount. As far as my knowledge I am not liable for old prescribed debt that is older than three years and I did not acknowledged it in writing or verbally. I also did not make a payment or promised to make an payment for any outstanding debt. Also I have not been summoned to make a payment by a creditor for the debt within the past three consecutive years. As far as my knowledge it is ******* for a debt collector or credit provider to demand payment many years after you have defaulted on the account. According to the National Credit Amendment Act, published 13 March 2015, it prohibits the sale and collection of Prescribed Debt.<br> <br> I also issued an complaint with them for a Real People Account that I don't owe any money. On the 30th September I have logged an complaint with Helo Peter and still I am waiting on feedback from Cherise Tyson on this matter.
