DMC Ignoring Settlement Agreement and Damaging My Credit Record

In April 2025, DMC offered me a written settlement via WhatsApp to settle my account for R2,250. I accepted the offer and made two payments: • R900 on 25 April 2025 • R950 on 21 May 2025

I then submitted a formal query on 2 June 2025 with proof of both payments and a screenshot of the settlement offer (which clearly includes my account number and the settlement amount). Despite this, DMC continues to call and send SMSes demanding over R1,300 and has not responded to my complaint.

To make matters worse, both TransUnion and Experian still reflect this debt as outstanding and show a missed payment in May—despite proof of payment. I’ve lodged disputes with both bureaus and escalated the matter to the Credit Ombud.

This behaviour is unprofessional and harmful. I comp**** with the agreement in good faith and expected DMC to do the same. I am now dealing with a damaged credit record and continued harassment, despite doing everything correctly.
