DMC ***

A couple of weeks ago i queried a credit record that was reflecting negatively on my credit profile as the company abve had listed me for an amount of R2000.00. I Eventually logged a complained with Experian who reverted back to me stating that DMC is a Debt collecting firm and they forwarded me a contact number. I dialled the number given "***" and a consultant by the name of Emma answered and requested that i verify my personal details for security details which i did and to her knowledge my details have not changed eg.Email and physical address. She then advised me that the amount of R2000 that i am owing is an account from Russels from 2010 and they bought the account from Russels in 2015. I queried from her to advise why after 10 years they "DMC" and "Russels" have failed to contact me regaing this debt and she advised that they made contact with me in 2017. I said to her, dispite the fact that they try to contact me in 2017 what stopped Russels from forwarding me an email with a detailed statement or most importantly a notice to my current physical address to advise that i am indebted t them and she couldnt answer me as to my knowledge i have not changed address or email details since i have been residing at the same address for over ±20 years. I then requested her to forward me a detailed statement of the account they say i am owing and the call ended. I then received an email from "***" with an attachment, i tried to open the attachment and it said "Statement cannot be displayed. Please contact queries department to provide a statement for you."..i redialed the number and nobody answered. Please advise what i should do because if i was notified correctly 10 years ago about these arrears, i guarantee that this issue would have been resolved. Currently i am not able to apply for anything online because of this as they have listed. i need that record to be removed, please HELP!!!!
