Incomplete Pool Leak Repair and No Warranty Support

Complaint against Mr D.J. Landman – DJ Pools, Brackenfell Contractor: Mr D.J. Landman Business: DJ Pools Location: Brackenfell, 7560 I paid Mr D.J. Landman R7,000 to repair a leak in my swimming pool. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing for the following reasons: The original repair involved replacing the piping between the weir and the pump, as well as the return pipes that feed water back into the pool. However, one of the return inlets was never properly terminated, which resulted in a new leak. When I contacted Mr Landman to discuss the issue, he insisted that the leak was elsewhere and offered to provide me with another quotation to repair it. When I explained that the leak appeared to be where the new piping had been installed, he became upset, repeatedly spoke over me, ended the phone call, and immediately blocked me on WhatsApp. Throughout our conversations, I found it very difficult to explain the problem, as he repeatedly interrupted me and would not allow me to finish speaking. The workmanship was also poor when reinstalling the paving that had been removed to access the pipes. Several of the pavers are loose and uneven, and many of the joints have gaps where the grout should have been properly app****. As a result of the unresolved leak, I had to hire another contractor to inspect and repair the problem at an additional cost of R1,200. The second contractor confirmed that the leak was caused by the return inlet that had not been properly terminated during the original repair. In my opinion, this should have been rectified by DJ Pools under warranty and at no additional cost to me. Based on my experience, I received no meaningful after-sales support or warranty for the work carried out. Instead of investigating a problem directly related to the repair, I was told it was a different issue and that I would need to pay for another repair. I cannot recommend DJ Pools and would encourage anyone considering using this contractor to take my experience into account.
