Vitality purchases affected by Comair liquidation

I am very concerned about the fact that Vitality is refusing to refund me for tickets purchased through them on British Airways.

It makes no sense that had I booked with BA directly, I would have been refunded by now. But because I booked through Vitality, I'm now being told that I need to wait until the end of the Comair liquidation process which will probably take years. I even have emails from British Airways apologising for the inconvenience and telling me that the refund is being processed.

From what I remember in the press, tickets purchased on the British Airways franchise were not subject to the liquidation, because Comair would only be paid these funds by BA once the service had been performed ie the flight had occurred.

Something is very fishy here. Surely the money never belonged to Vitality, what right do they have to decide that no refunds will be made.

If anyone else has experienced similar problems, please let me know. I think there is a huge amount of misinformation about this situation, but as far as Vitality is concerned, I believe ignorance is no excuse.
