Vitality has become a gambling orientated membership, rather than an achieving membership.
Discovery Vitality in 2023 has become the opposite of what it originally set out to be. Vitality use to be a membership that rewarded you for practicing an active lifestyle, being rewarded for being active when meeting weekly goals. Currently, the only "active" benefits you get after meeting your goal is to play a Gameboard - which is only accessible once reaching your weekly goal. This "Gameboard" has a maximum of 750 Discovery Miles points a week - assuming by some chance you get 750 Discovery Miles points that's a maximum of 3000 Discovery Miles a month which equals R300. A single membership per month for Vitality is R329 - which exceeds the potential maximum you can earn on the Gameboard. In addition to this, and by far the biggest problem with the "Gameboard" is that it uses gambling psychology to have users return to play a game that they will more than likely reap the minimum rewards. There is nothing vitalising about gambling. Vitality is set to release a new Bank orientated Gameboard in 2023 March, following a similar gambling psychology structure. As a vitality member, I am disappointed that Vitality is prioritising this approach - and I will no longer be an advocate for Vitality.
